Dear Bud,
Jack and I married - both for the first time - in 1977.
At that time, Jack was working for the Oshawa radio stations.
Can't remember how long he worked there prior to our marriage.
Gord Garrison hired him.
Later, Gord sold the station
to someone and Jack remained there until 1980 when we moved to Florida.
In June 1980, we moved to Longwood, Florida (near Orlando) due to my job transfer.
Jack semi-retired then.
We were transferred to Chicago in 1984.
During our time in Chicago, Jack volunteered for CRIS - Chicago Radioland Information Service.
CRIS was a radio station for the visually impaired.
(Here's a hyperlink to that station http://chicagolighthouse.org/programs-and-services/independent-living-services/chicagoland-radio-information-service-cris)
I may have a copy of one of his CRIS broadcasts and, if I can find it, will send it to you.
We returned to the Toronto area in 1986 and lived in Brampton.
Jack went to work with the Oakville radio station CHWO starting in sales but then moved over to broadcasting news and commentary during the afternoon shift.
He worked for the Caine family, specifically Mike Caine.
Jack developed cancer in late 1988 and he died February 13, 1989.
Meanwhile, thank you for all you do to preserve Canada's broadcast history.
Cheers!
